The rich rural scenery of North Fife, Scotland, provides variety from the historic city of St Andrews and the quaint harbours of the East Neuk of Fife. A Royal Palace in Falkland, a Folk Museum in Ceres, a National Trust Mansion House near Cupar, Balmerino Abbey, Lindores Abbey, Newburgh, Dunbog, Glenduckie, Creich, Birkhill, Ballinbreich, Abdie, Upper Flisk and more in beautiful North East Fife. Also the occasional wander.

Creich Castle North Fife July 2009
Today the weather was idyllic in north fife, warm with very slight occasional showers that were no bother. I visited Creich Castle to to take a closer look at a Chilean Pine nearby which from a distance appeared to be in flower. An illusion as it was weather damaged foliage. It did put me closer to this very historically important dwelling.
From the drive way to Creich farmhouse which is available for holiday lets.
The rear still shows some of the well crafted stone masonry though the more accessible from lower down has long been recycled.
Right next to the house and castle and other working farm buildings stands this Doocot which was home to hundreds of pigeons, the young of which were an important food supply before intensive sheep and cattle production.
See the historic importance of this castle.
