Ducklings North Fife

Ducklings north fife enjoying a spray of water from a garden hose. These are just eight weeks old, we collected four from a kind friend at Guardbridge Hotel who incubated some of our duck eggs and reared them.

This guide gives both the novice and experienced livestock farmer information on selection, housing, behaviour, space requirements, breeding and birthing techniques, feeding, health concerns, and remedies for illness. It also covers the business side of raising ducks.
As duck books go this really is as good as it gets. Great information well presented, and a pleasure to read. Lots of factual information pleasantly punctuated with anecdotes of the author's experiences. It has something for everyone from the complete novice to the hard core experienced duck keeper. All aspects of duck keeping are covered, housing, nutrition, incubation, rearing and illnesses to name but a few. The early sections decribing the characteristics of various breeds is hugely useful to a novice helping to decide what breed is most suitable for you given the environment you will be keeping your ducks in. If you don't own this book, buy a copy. If you don't have any Ducks, buy some so you can justify owning a copy of this book! Storey's Guide to Raising Ducks (Storey's Guides to Raising) The eggs are fabulous.
