The garden North Fife May 27th

Today, a mixture of warm sunshine alternating with short heavy showers sometimes of hail. Weather normally associated with April.

Small Copper butterfly, the latest kind to visit. The year began with visits from over wintered small tortoiseshell, painted ladies and peacocks, followed by small whites, orange tips and hopefully followed by common blue, small heath and others.

Campion fowers and fly.

Hawthorn (may) flowers topped with horse chestnut blooms, a lovely cluster on the road to Newburgh North Fife.

Horse chestnut flower spikes.
