Julia Fawlks wants to help her quirky friend Bea get ahead with her new career in hypnotherapy, so she gives her access to her house on the edge of Windsor Forest with the idea Bea can use one of the rooms to practise from when Julia is at work. What could be the harm in such an arrangement between firm friends? But Julia begins to have vivid dreams of liaisons with a horned man who comes for her. At first they are a pleasant distraction then they become increasingly intrusive, and ever more disturbing. Soon the horned man is no longer a figure in a dream; he is becoming manifest and his amorous attentions are now arbitrary demands on Julia. When Julia tries to expel her ghostly stalker, the horned man becomes increasingly violent and his insidious presence turns to possessive control. And that’s when Julia notices the faint trace of a necromancy circle drawn on the patio in her garden. Just what has Bea been doing at her house? Who is the horned man and will Julia be able to shake him off?

Tayview December 11th, An unusually warm day at 12 degrees celsius, air circulating around a continental high pressure bringing warmth from North Africa.

Saturday 7th December. Dundee from Dundee Law, a cold and dismal day as can be seen from the lack of colour.

Prominent is an oil drilling platform, in for maintenance and obviates the depth of the North Sea of which the average water depths vary, but are generally between 50 and 200 m for the shelf seas, the waters being shallower around the south west of Scotland, and typically between 100 and 150 m to the west of the Hebrides and off the north coast. Scotland’s offshore environment also includes waters of depths greater than 2,000 m. Little is known about the deep seas around Scotland compared with the shallow shelf seas. In general, less is known about Scotland’s seas compared with our knowledge of landward Scotland. What is known however is that Scotland’s seas are some of the most diverse on the planet. They are at the confluence of northerly-flowing surface currents and southerly-flowing polar currents and the complex bathymetry to the west causes these to become mixed, bringing nutrients to the surface. These are fed on by plankton communities which form the basis for what could be one of the richest fishing regions anywhere on the globe.

 

Oil extraction from such an important resource has its dangers both to oil workers and  biodiversity.

Looking to the South reveals the famous Tay rail bridge which is about 2 miles long.

Flisk North Fife 26th/27th November

The sky at 3-45pm, 26th November on the way to Newburgh North Fife. 38 minutes later the red deepens, how quickly the light changes. The saying is "red sky at night shepherds delight".

The street lights twinkle in Newburgh.

Wednesday 27th, ploughman's delight, the sun shines low in the sky at Flisk point where gulls congregate foraging in the mud.

Then following the plough, as they do. Logie farm.

Tayview 24th November 2013. Another dramatic sundown over the River Tay, I'm frequently in awe at the incredible vistas. Makes my day.

Newburgh Riverside North Fife Nov 22nd.

A building high pressure is giving rise to largely cloudless skies, this vapour trail and others become more evident. Water vapour, a condensate of jet liner fuel, normally they dissolve quickly but today they linger and have developed into these interesting forms.

Half an hour later down by the riverside.

The vapour trail is still evident as the sun sets in the West.

Turn around and the light takes on a more subtle quality. Dundee on the horizon lights a twinkle.

Maid of The Tay at berth along side the recently refurbished pier, Newburgh riverside.

Geese and Swans enjoy the calm conditions.

4 pm and it's cold,brrrr.
