Looking East towards Dundee from the road by Balinbreich, I was struck by the clear line of the dew point bottom of the cloud and remarkably a similar colour to the fields below

Near high water today 25th September. I've taken this view hundreds of times, always different of course, the changing nature of light, water level and of the fields. Harvest is largely over, ploughing and sowing is in full swing advantaged by the clement weather. Today had a brisk westerly wind drying the remaining crops, noticed was a field of oilseed rape being combined, only potatoes and root vegetables remain.

Tayview December 11th, An unusually warm day at 12 degrees celsius, air circulating around a continental high pressure bringing warmth from North Africa.

At last there's the feel of summer, much warmer, flowers abound, everywhere is really green. The sun shines intermittently through the cloud blessing us all.

Looking East to the Sidlaws, notice the clouds. Ordinary Nimbus.

To the South a different kind of Nimbus,  Asperatus Clouds (Undulatus asperatus) my head can be often in the clouds but this kind is not frequent.

Finally Spring has arrived, a wee bit late but now all growth is greening. It's even getting warmer. The whole season is about 3 weeks behind the norm, it's the middle of May and we're getting April showers of rain and hail, snow even on the high ground. Not that you need me to tell you about climate change.

A light dusting of snow in the morning.

More white than green bleating sheep cry out for food.

Hungry sheep,  full of expectancy ..... barrrr barrrr

Pinkfoot geese alight on seeing me approach,

They are off to safer havens.

 

Winging their way up stream over the River Tay.

As the afternoon progressed snow lay at lower levels.

Tayview October 17th North Fife. I imagine everyone is getting a wee bit fed up the constant rainfall, again the roads are awash and the fields sodden.

Tayview September 14th, cloudy and windy day drying the grain fields and then the sun came out fully.

The same field earlier this year.

Combine coming up to the turn at Ballinbreich Farm, North Fife.

Shredding the straw, rather than lay the straw for collection and future use as bedding etc. This way humus is restored back to the soil maintaining a more healthy balance on a bacterial micro-organism level.

Every couple of cuts the barley is off-loaded into trailers. My feeling is the yield is a good one in weight though the malting quality maybe marginal.

Tayview 29th July, Overcast skies, it showers, the sun shines, it showers, it seems the whole Summer is this way. Certainly the vegetation has benefited, fuller, taller and now some turning to seed.

Along the roadside the grasses are in seed displaying a wide variety of colour, shape and texture.

Tayview 8th July, throughout the UK it has been raining non stop, today just a few drops, low wind and a tranquil time on the Tay near Newburgh North Fife.
