The rich rural scenery of North Fife, Scotland, provides variety from the historic city of St Andrews and the quaint harbours of the East Neuk of Fife. A Royal Palace in Falkland, a Folk Museum in Ceres, a National Trust Mansion House near Cupar, Balmerino Abbey, Lindores Abbey, Newburgh, Dunbog, Glenduckie, Creich, Birkhill, Ballinbreich, Abdie, Upper Flisk and more in beautiful North East Fife. Also the occasional wander.

Roe Deer North Fife
Roe Deer North Fife. For a week now I've had the mother of all colds and as a consequence have not posted but I have recorded this road kill. In my time here over the last twenty odd years it is not unusual to come across such a scene. This particular mile long stretch of road near Ballinbreich farm is a place of high carnage. Apart from the great sadness this engenders occasionally I regard it as serendipity and remove the carcass that we may enjoy to eat. Roe Deer is a very tender and mild tasting meat. It would be wasteful to pass it by.
